Art pieces installed in hallway at Private Residence in Battersea Park, London

“Susan has provided us with excellent advice about how to develop our existing art collection with most helpful options for new acquisitions and potential disposals. In addition, her strong network of art professionals has enabled the refurbishment, re-mounting and re-framing of a number of our more important pieces. We have been delighted with Susan’s reliability and approach to all aspects of the curatorial aspects of our art work and would recommend her without hesitation to others.”

Commissioned art piece in background from entry at the Cavendish Hotel London, St James’s

“I found [Susan Mumford] extremely helpful when commissioning a new piece for my hotel.

The whole process was very well coordinated and the end product was even more stunning than I had imagined. I would have no hesitation in recommending her work.”

Ben Erland, Scape V, Oil on canvas, 58 x 57 cm

“After moving from a period house that required a traditional style of art to a modern flat on the Southbank of London, we consulted Susan Mumford to advise us on placing contemporary art in a large living room with totally bare walls. Working to our specified budget, Susan commissioned contemporary British artist Ben Erland to produce two site specific oil paintings that simply – yet effectively – complete the setting. The pieces were made to look like they belong, we love them and it’s no surprise that, four years on, we continue to regularly receive compliments on the paintings.”

“I recently passed a major birthday and had wanted to mark it in some way. Having always been impressed with the various artworks Susan had shown us I enquired whether she had something suitable for a particular spot in our front room.
It’s a horizontal space, running behind the sofa and was at the time occupied by a cheap print my wife found in a Habitat sale. We were prepared to spend a decent sum, but funds weren’t unlimited, especially with my other birthday arrangements to consider.
At our first meeting, Susan showed us a few interesting items, but none of them were quite right so she agreed to come round to our home and see the space for herself. This proved to be an excellent idea. As well as measuring the space, she took into account the overall mood and colour scheme of the room and even the view out of the window.
She showed us another print that I quite liked but Ruth stalled and we agreed we would prefer a painting rather than a print. Not in the least discouraged Susan soon emailed an image of an abstract painting by the emerging Indonesian artist, I Nengah Ioka Dana. It looked promising.
When we finally saw the actual painting itself we realised it was more than promising; it was exactly what we wanted and we purchased it on the spot. Susan had done a very good job of gauging our taste and figuring out what we wanted before we were even sure ourselves. The piece was even inside our agreed budget.
Ruth and I now enjoy the privilege of living with an exquisite work of art. I would recommend Susan’s services to anyone who wishes to enhance their home or professional environment as well as supporting artists everywhere.”
